DVD authoring means the creation of a sub-master DVD ready for replication or duplication. Authoring can include the creation of artwork, menus, chapters, animation and adding background audio.
Initial Steps:
1) Editing main video footage
2) Editing the audio files (all languages to be used on the DVD)
3) Converting the Video /Audio to the necessary MPEG format
4) Scanning and sizing any images to be used
Authoring Stages May Include:
1) Setting up introductory copyright footage
2) Setting up a main menu
3) Creating Chapter Points in the video footage that can be accessed from the chapter menu
4) Setting up language menus
5) Setting up any "extras" eg: pictures, audio, small clips, biographies
